What I’ve been working on…

I hope you are enjoying this wonderful and relaxing Sunday.  I wanted to share an update and let you know everything that I have been doing. I've been pretty quiet lately, but it's been a crazy, busy month and I am so very thankful for all of your support!  I completed two garden bed installations and delivered our raised bed cedar planters to those who purchased them.  On top of that, planting plans have been sent out as well.  Perhaps the most exciting of all, is the work I did with Dawn Green from B Friendly Gardens about all things Espalier.

Dawn Green is a lifelong gardener and she has been a professional gardener for 20 years, most of them at private estates as the head gardener. She is a mother of two, grandmother of three, and a huge proponent of shop local, shop small. Her love of gardening still has her learning and trying new things in the garden. Finally, she is a member of the Association of Professional Gardeners, and has a certificate in Fruit Tree Care and Pruning from Susan Poizner, author of Growing Urban Orchards and creator of OrchardPeople.com.

I learned so much from Dawn and we had a blast filming.  Below is a photograph of the work we started on my espalier apple trees.  An updated, in depth post will be emailed out soon, along with a video.  It's totally worth your time, especially if you're looking to start an orchard in a small city space like mine.  Although I must warn you the filming is not great LOL.  I have since started working with a local videographer to create a MUCH better viewing experience.

Here are some photos of the garden beds installed for two wonderful clients and their little crew...

The plan is to put up two arbors connecting the beds. Layout a flagstone walking path and patio on the left of the beds and set up a bistro table under that window. Then place a climbing vine on the back wall, and add perennials all along the back of the garden to close in that entire space.  The garden area will be a relaxing retreat and I will continue to share updated photos with each new stage.

Another beautiful before installation of a super sweet (and hilarious) client space...

I'll share the after photo when I can grab it.  I actually forgot to take one when I was there.

Here are the Elevated Cedar Planters.  They turned out SO well.  I scooped up two of the child's size planters for my deck.  They are adorable.

Another two planters delivered to their new home!  The color of this home made the cedar pop.  The client also had large and WONDERFUL custom window boxes out front, made of cedar.

A picture of a planter in it's new garden space.  It looks like a dream on the cobblestone path and sitting in front of that amazing backdrop. I loved getting to know this wonderful and kind family too.

Lastly, here is my front garden space.  I added in some plants to the bottom layer and got to enjoy the tulips from last fall's planting.  The tulips looked stunning with the redbud and magnolia in full bloom.
